We had a great Valentine’s Day weekend, that is, until the actual day arrived. Dan booked us a night in “the city” as I like to call it. We went up on Friday to Salt Lake and stayed at the Hotel Monaco. It was really nice. We had a really fun time. We went shopping at the gateway, went to dinner at Z Tejas, ran into some out of town friends, and just had a nice day together. Then, on Saturday we went to the temple. Neither Dan nor I have ever been to the Salt Lake temple before, so it was cool to finally do that.
We stayed on floor 9 in room 909, and 9 happens to be my favorite number so I had to documentOn Sunday we went to my mom and dad’s house to eat dinner and frost the traditional heart shaped sugar cookies. We do this twice a year, once close to Halloween, with pumpkin shaped sugar cookies, and then once near Valentine’s Day with heart shaped cookies. We have done this for almost as long as I can remember. My mom always makes about 10 dozen cookies and we all go home with way more cookies than we can eat, but they are delicious!! Then the big day finally arrived. I had a big fancy 3 course fondue dinner planned for us. Around 5 Dan called me (on his way home) and said he really wasn’t feeling well. I thought that he was just kinda sick, and to be honest, I was a little annoyed. It was Valentine’s Day after all. Then he called again and said he REALLY wasn’t feeling well and that he was freezing cold and wanted me to get a hot bath going for him. So I did. He came home, with flowers, and got straight in the tub. We were of course out of medicine so I went to the store to get some. When I came home, I found Dan under about 20 blankets curled into the tightest ball imaginable. I immediately took his temperature to find that he was running a fever of 104.6 degrees and rising. I took him to the instacare near Utah Valley Hospital, the instacare sent us to the ER and that is where we spent our Valentine’s Night. Talk about romantic. I was pretty worried for a while because the Drs thought that he might have meningitis. But after doing some blood tests they decided it is probably just a really bad case of good ol’ influenza. So I was up with him ever y 2 hours alternating between Tylenol and IBUProphen . It was a pretty long night. Today we have been able to keep his fever down, but he is still not doing well. Poor guy. Overall, I’d say it’s a good thing we had a good weekend, because it was quite possibly the WORST and scariest Valentine’s Day Ever. Hopefully my guy gets better real soon! :(
Im glad you've been able to keep his fever down! that is so scary! Cash prayed for him in his prayer before bed tonight:-)
ReplyDeleteGet better soon Danny!!
p.s. your hair is gorgeous in the "frosting cookies" pictures :-) I hate you and your stupid gorgeous hair
We are so glad that Danny is ok! But sad that is how you spent your Valentine's day.
ReplyDeleteI so love the cookie pics. It makes me sad that I am not there. We carry on that tradition at the Banks house as well, but I don't make nearly as many cookies as mom does. ;)
SO glad he's okay! Hope he's feeling all the way better now ;)
